On Jan. 31, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declared COVID-19 a public health emergency, launching what would become a three-year crusade against a new and dangerous virus. On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the pandemic comes to an official end with the revocation of the public health emergency. Dr. Cameron Wolfe, an infectious disease specialists who served on the front lines of care at Duke, reflects on all that has transpired over the past three years.
