Testing options may vary by semester based on campus operations and current case trends.


Any student, faculty, or staff member who becomes symptomatic or tests positive should follow the instructions below.

Students

Students experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should contact Student Health by phone during business hours at 919-681-9355 and choose option 2 to speak to a triage nurse.

Employees

Employees experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should report their symptoms to Employee Occupational Health & Wellness (EOHW), schedule testing and self-isolate until cleared by EOHW. You can report new symptoms or exposures through My COVID Link or by contacting the Employee Health Exposure Hotline.

1. Report new symptoms or exposures through My COVID Link by following the instructions below:

  • Click on My COVID Link
  • On the My COVID Link page, click on Report New Symptoms or Report New Exposure link
  • Follow instructions to complete the submission
  • Be sure to click Submit
  • Check your Duke email for scheduling instructions and link
  • Locations:
    • Duke Medicine Pavilion lobby at 10 Duke Medicine Circle
  • Access your results in your My Duke Health account

2. You may also contact the Duke Employee Health Exposure Hotline to report symptoms or seek guidance.

After hour urgent concerns, call the Duke emergency operator for the exposure nurse on call at 919-684-8115.

Close Contact of Positive Individual

If you have been exposed to a known positive case, you should monitor for symptoms and test 3-5 days after the last exposure, or immediately if symptoms develop.

Employees:

  1. Click on My COVID Link
  2. On the My COVID Link page, click on Submit Test Results link
  3. Follow instructions to complete the submission
  4. Be sure to click Submit
  5. Check your Duke email for additional instructions from EOHW

Surveillance testing is no longer required for students or unvaccinated individuals. However, those who are unvaccinated remain at higher risk for severe illness related to COVID-19 and should consider getting vaccinated to protect themselves and others at risk for severe illness.

Surveillance test sites ended operation on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Anyone who has symptoms should contact Student Health or Employee Health for testing.

Employees:

  2. On the My COVID Link page, click on Submit Test Results link.
  3. Follow instructions on the screen to complete the submission.
  4. Be sure to click Submit
  5. Check your Duke email for additional instructions from EOHW

Students:

Students who test positive for COVID should consult with Duke Student Health at 919-681-9355 for guidance.
