In an effort to better secure facilities and protect property, all buildings on Duke’s main campus in Durham will go into a controlled-access status that will require a DukeID card for entry.
This change will take effect at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. Faculty, staff and students will continue to have access to most of the same buildings they did beforehand, but they will be required to swipe their DukeCard ID or use the Mobile DukeCard to gain access.
Community buildings such as the Perkins Library, the Brodhead Center, and the Bryan Center will also be accessible with a DukeCard ID or Mobile DukeCard. In addition, some departments may include stricter access requirements for certain buildings to address unique needs.
Duke faculty, staff and students should carry their cards or mobile credentials with them at all times.

The DukeCard Office is normally open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. M-F and will also be available by phone during this weekend from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. to assist anyone needing help with building access.
